About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Metallurgist with expertise in mineral processing to join their operational team in Randburg .

This role is crucial for optimizing the recovery of valuable minerals from ore through various processing techniques.

You will be responsible for analyzing plant performance, conducting laboratory test work, and implementing process improvements to maximize yield and minimize costs.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of metallurgical principles, practical experience in mineral processing circuits, and a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and product quality within a demanding processing environment.Key Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize the performance of mineral processing plant operations, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching.Conduct laboratory and pilot plant test work to evaluate new processing methods and reagents.Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to plant personnel.Develop and maintain process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality and maximize recovery.Prepare technical reports on plant performance, test results, and process improvement initiatives.Requirements

Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 4 years of experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy.Strong understanding of flotation, comminution, and hydrometallurgy principles.Experience with process simulation software is an advantage.Proficiency in laboratory analysis and interpretation of metallurgical test results.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Benefits
