Executive Summary
This technical report outlines the metallurgical study and processing plant design for the Botija Abajo Project at the Molejón Mine. The study establishes favorable conditions for the extraction of copper and gold from representative ore grades. The proposed flow sheet includes primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing, ball mill grinding, rougher flotation, and concentrate thickening and filtration. The design throughput is set at 1,500 tpd with 90% availability, targeting a mine life of approximately 6 years.
The processing circuit is designed to handle Run of Mine ore fed by a front-end loader, utilizing a jaw crusher and cone crushers for size reduction. Grinding is achieved via a ball mill in closed circuit with hydrocyclones, producing a grind size of 80% passing 104µm. The flotation circuit focuses on copper and gold recovery while depressing gangue and minor sulfides, using PAX as a collector and MIBC as a frother.
Operational monitoring will be conducted by a metallurgical laboratory to track feed grades, concentrate grades, and tailings grades. The plant design allows for future capacity expansion to 5,500 tpd after the initial Molejón deposit is processed, utilizing the existing installed capacity supplemented by additional flotation capacity.
