Executive Summary
This section of the 2012 Technical Report details the recovery methods and processing infrastructure for the Cairn Hill Magnetite-Copper-Gold Mine Phase 1 operation. The operation utilizes a Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) model where ore is crushed to a -40 mm product size and exported without further on-site milling or concentration. The processing circuit consists of mobile primary and secondary crushing units operated by Exact Mining Services, capable of processing 1.8 Mtpa.
Grade control involves blast hole sampling using Portable XRF and crusher sampling at 1,000 t intervals. The final product is transported via rail to Port Adelaide for export to China, where separation of copper-gold sulphide and magnetite concentrate occurs. Utilities are provided via mobile diesel generators and bore water for dust suppression.
