Executive Summary
The Don Mario Oxide Stockpile Project involves the re-evaluation of processing existing mineral oxide stockpiles since 2018. Initial assumptions favored flotation, but subsequent metallurgical evaluations concluded that a sulphidization circuit would maximize value. The project aims to complete final evaluation by the end of Q3 fiscal 2021.
The recovery process is split into two main circuits. Copper is recovered through acid leaching using sulfuric acid, followed by solvent extraction and electrowinning. Gold and silver are recovered via cyanide leaching, utilizing Carbon in Column (CIC) and Carbon in Pulp (CIP) methods, followed by detoxification. The plant operates with a zero discharge system using fresh and recycled water, powered by an on-site natural gas plant.
