Commodities Manganese (HPMSM)
Status Conceptual / Scoping

Executive Summary

This section of the technical report outlines the conceptual recovery methods for the Emily Deposit manganese project developed by Forte Dynamics, Inc. Based on scoping metallurgical testing performed by Electric Metals, a process flowsheet has been designed to produce High Purity Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate (HPMSM). The ore is planned to be shipped by rail from a load-out station near the Emily site to a remote chemical plant location currently under review.

Two primary process flowsheets are presented for evaluation. Flowsheet No. 1 involves whole ore processing, including crushing, grinding, and agitated leaching, which has been tested at the scoping level. Flowsheet No. 2 proposes a beneficiation stage prior to transportation to reduce volume and reagent costs. The leaching process utilizes sulfuric acid and sulfur dioxide to recover manganese, with subsequent purification steps to remove impurities such as iron, aluminum, and silica.

The overall recovery of manganese is conservatively estimated at 90%, accounting for losses during impurity removal and crystallization. The project remains in the conceptual and scoping phase, with future test work planned to optimize ore beneficiation systems and finalize the chemical plant site selection.

Executive Summary

This technical report section details the conceptual recovery methods for the Emily manganese deposit, developed based on scoping metallurgical testing by Electric Metals. Two process flowsheets were evaluated: Flowsheet No. 1 involves whole ore processing shipped to a remote chemical plant, while Flowsheet No. 2 proposes a beneficiation stage prior to transportation to optimize logistics and reagent costs. The primary process involves crushing, grinding, agitated leaching, impurity removal, and crystallization of High Purity Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate (HPMSM).

The proposed processing circuit includes two to three stage crushing to a P80 of 12.5 mm, followed by ball mill grinding to approximately 400 micrometers. The ore undergoes agitated leaching at 45% solids for 5 hours using sulfuric acid and sulfur dioxide. Subsequent purification steps remove iron, aluminum, and other base metals before crystallizing the final HPMSM product.

Overall manganese recovery is conservatively estimated at 90%, accounting for losses during impurity removal and crystallization. Future test work is planned to optimize ore beneficiation systems and finalize the chemical plant location, which will be situated away from the Emily deposit in central Minnesota.
