Executive Summary
This section details a bulk sampling and test-milling program completed in 2011 at the Engineer Gold Mine. A 30 tonne-per-day gravity separation mill circuit was refurbished to process 400 tonnes of composite bulk samples from the Engineer Vein and Double Decker Vein. The existing circuit achieved an average gold recovery of 51.3% using ball milling and triple deck Deister tables.
Metallurgy testwork indicated that unrecovered gold and silver were predominantly finer than 75 μm, limiting gravity recovery efficiency. Gekko proposed modifications to the flow sheet utilizing an InLine Pressure Jig (IPJ) for pre-concentration followed by an InLine Spinner (ISP) for further mass reduction.
These proposed flow sheets aim to improve overall gold recovery to 61.3% while reducing mass to 1.55%. The report notes that these flow sheets are preliminary and require further study for plant design and equipment selection.
