Gold Processing Circuit at Oko West Project: Crushing, Grinding, Leach-CIP & Cyanide Destruction

  • Project: Oko West Gold Project in Guyana, developed by G Mining Services Inc. (Feasibility Study completed June 2025).
  • Throughput: 6 Mtpa (fresh rock) or 7 Mtpa (blended saprolite/fresh ore) with 92% plant availability.
  • Recovery Rates: 94% (open pit fresh rock), 92.7% (underground), 93.3% (transition ore), 95% (saprolite).
  • Key Process Steps:
    – Primary crushing (gyratory crusher → 115mm P80)
    – Grinding (SAG + ball mill → 75µm P80)
    – Gravity concentration (KC-QS48 concentrators + intensive leaching)
    – Leach-CIP (36-hour residence time, 50 g/L carbon concentration)
    – Carbon elution (10-t Split Pressure Zadra)
    – Cyanide destruction (SO₂/O₂ process → <5 ppm WAD cyanide)
  • Reagents: Sodium cyanide (0.32 kg/t), lime (1.44 kg/t), SMBS (1.19 kg/t), activated carbon (0.04 kg/t).
  • Tailings: Pumped to storage facility after cyanide detoxification, meeting IFC standards.
  • Automation: PLC/SCADA control system with moderate automation and remote monitoring.
  • Workforce: 233 personnel including operations, maintenance, and metallurgy teams.
