Executive Summary
This NI 43-101 Preliminary Economic Assessment Technical Report outlines the recovery methods for the Kharmagtai Project, focusing on the processing of sulphide mineralisation. The assessed option involves a conventional SABC mill comminution circuit followed by gravity gold recovery and flotation to produce doré and a copper-gold concentrate. The plant throughput was based on two options: a single line 15 Mtpa plant and a dual line 30 Mtpa plant, with oxide mineralisation treated as waste.
Metallurgical testwork conducted between 2008 and 2019, reviewed by Tilyard Mining Services and East Riding Mining Services, informed the recovery assumptions. The study determined average recoveries of 90% for Copper and 77.5% for Gold at a 25% copper concentrate grade. These figures incorporate a gravity circuit to recover free gold and a scavenging circuit to improve flotation performance, based on data from variability composites and locked-cycle testwork.
The process plant design utilizes industry-standard technology, including a 60 x 110 gyratory crusher, a 40’ x 20’ SAG mill, and a 27’ x 46’ ball mill. The flotation circuit features flash flotation, roughers, scavengers, and cleaners housed in insulated sheds. Tailings will be thickened and pumped to a storage facility with a capacity of approximately 10 years of operation, with provisions for a lined TSF if required.
