Executive Summary

The Porgera JV ore processing plant utilizes a complex recovery circuit located across two sites, Tawisakale and Anawe. Run-of-mine ore is crushed via a gyratory crusher and secondary Omnicone crushers before being conveyed to a coarse ore stockpile. The grinding circuit employs two SAG mills in parallel, followed by a ball milling circuit closed with cyclones. Gravity recovery is integrated using Knelson concentrators for free gold prior to flotation.

Flotation produces a sulphide concentrate which is thickened and subjected to pressure oxidation in four autoclaves to oxidize sulphides. The resulting slurry undergoes washing and enters a leach circuit comprising seven CIL tanks followed by nine CIP tanks for gold recovery. Final gold and silver are recovered via electro-winning and smelted into doré bullion. Cyanide destruction and lime production are also integral parts of the plant operations.
