Falcon Energy Materials plc is developing the Lola Graphite Project, an integrated natural graphite-to-battery anode operation. Located in an undisclosed region, the facility will produce 92,435 tonnes/year of 95.4% Cg graphite concentrate, with downstream processing into coated spherical purified graphite (CSPG) for lithium-ion battery anodes.
- Processing Circuit: Crushing → Grinding → Desliming (Saprolite only) → Rougher/Cleaner Flotation → Concentrate Dewatering → Dry Screening
- Key Metrics: 83.6% LoM graphite recovery, 7,029 t/day throughput, 90% plant availability
- Flotation: Diesel collector & methyl isobutyl carbinol frother in 16x16m³ rougher cells
- Product Sizing: Four fractions (+48 mesh, -48+80 mesh, -80+100 mesh, -100 mesh)
- Battery Material Plant (BMP): Processes -100 mesh concentrate into 26,400 t/year CSPG via spheroidization, acid purification (HCl/HNO₃/HF), and pitch coating
- Purification: 99.95% FC purity achieved through thermal acid leaching at 60°C
- Water Management: Tailings thickeners with 90% water reclaim, zero liquid discharge wastewater treatment
