Executive Summary
This Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Slivova Project in Kosovo outlines the recovery methods for gold and silver. Metallurgical testwork conducted in 2016 by ALS Laboratories under GRES guidance established the basis for a 350,000 tpa CIL facility. Bara has reviewed this work in 2023 and validated the process design for a small-scale underground mining approach. The proposed plant includes a 142,000 tpa feed rate with a 94.1% gold recovery rate using Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) and gravity concentration.
The flowsheet involves run-of-mine feed crushed to -75 mm and screened at 19 mm. The circuit utilizes a ball mill followed by cyclone classification. Gravity recovery is integrated via a concentrator and table to recover doré concentrate. The remaining slurry undergoes countercurrent CIL leaching with sodium cyanide for 48 hours. Loaded carbon is stripped and gold is recovered via electrowinning and smelted in an electric arc furnace.
Cyanide destruction is managed using KHSO5, and tailings are thickened and filtered before transfer to the Dry Stack Facility (DSF). The design criteria reflect a small-scale operation with 21 tonnes per hour throughput. This report confirms the technical validity of the CIL plant adapted for the current underground mining strategy.
