The plant is designed to treat copper-bearing sulphide ore with a nominal throughput of 28,000 tonnes per day, increasing to a design rate of 29,900 t/d. The facility utilizes a standard concentrator flowsheet including gyratory crushing, SAG-ball mill grinding, and flotation circuits to produce a marketable copper concentrate with a grade of 25% Cu.
The study incorporates geometallurgical projections based on drill hole data, accounting for ore hardness variations between the northern (softer) and southern (harder) parts of the pit. Production is scheduled for 12 years, with throughput adjusted in Years 6 to 12 to 25,500 t/d due to increased ore hardness. The process includes crushing, grinding, rougher and cleaner flotation, and concentrate dewatering via thickening and filtration.
The design life of the project is 15 years, with the concentrator specifically tailored to the Little Eva ore characteristics. Preliminary testwork indicates that satellite deposits are also amenable to this processing design, with up to 10% ore from satellite deposits planned for inclusion starting in Year 2. The plant aims for a copper recovery of 93.0% and gold recovery of 78.0%.
