Executive Summary
The Cameron Gold Camp Project Preliminary Economic Assessment outlines the process plant design for a gold recovery operation. The design is based on a typical three-stage crushing, ball milling, and Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) flowsheet. The process plant is designed to treat an annualized throughput of 1.0 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa).
The flowsheet includes a three-stage crushing circuit producing a product with a P80 of 8 mm, stored in a fine ore bin before milling. The ball mill operates in closed circuit with cyclones to produce a final grind size of 75 µm. The milled product undergoes pre-leach thickening to 55% w/w density before entering a six-stage CIL circuit where gold is leached and absorbed onto activated carbon with oxygen enhancement.
Gold recovery is estimated at 91.5% with a head grade of 2.98 g Au/t. Loaded carbon is processed through an AARL elution circuit, and cyanide in the tailings is destroyed using the SO2/O2 process prior to disposal. The process flowsheet is considered well-known in the industry and relatively low risk. The plant is located as close as practical to the proposed pit on relatively flat terrain.
