Hilarión Project — 2020 Technical Report

Company Nexa Resources S.A.
Date 2020-02-14

Executive Summary

This technical report outlines the conceptual design for the processing plant at the Hilarión Project, based on pilot plant test work conducted by Certimin in 2015. The plant is designed to process approximately 3.65 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of ore through conventional comminution and flotation circuits. The primary objective is to produce saleable bulk lead-silver and zinc concentrates, with potential future evaluation for copper concentrate production from the El Padrino deposit.

The processing flow involves a multi-stage crushing circuit feeding a grinding circuit closed with cyclones, achieving a product size (P80) of 100 µm. Flotation circuits are divided into a bulk rougher and cleaner circuit for lead and silver recovery, and a separate rougher and cleaner circuit for zinc recovery. Concentrates undergo thickening and filtration before shipping, while tailings are thickened and disposed of in a conventional tailings storage facility.

Recovery estimates indicate approximately 86% lead and 80% silver recovery to the bulk concentrate, and 90% zinc recovery to the zinc concentrate. Future test work aims to optimize the process flow sheet and reagent scheme to maximize metal recovery while minimizing consumable costs.
