Executive Summary
This section of the NI 43-101 Technical Report details the recovery methods for a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) dated November 2019. The proposed processing plant is designed to handle an annual throughput of 2.5 million tonnes per annum (Mt/a) with an average head grade of 3.2 g/t Au and 78 g/t Ag. The objective is to produce a flotation concentrate, utilizing a flowsheet developed from preliminary metallurgical test work to optimize recovery while minimizing capital and operating costs.
The process facility includes primary crushing via a jaw crusher, followed by a SAG/ball mill grinding circuit. The ground material undergoes rougher flotation, regrinding, and multiple stages of cleaner flotation to upgrade the concentrate. Final concentrate dewatering is achieved through thickening and filtration, resulting in a product with approximately 12% moisture content suitable for transport. Tailings are managed via slurry pumping to a Tailings Management Storage Facility (TMSF).
Key equipment specifications include a 7.9 m diameter SAG mill and a 6.1 m diameter ball mill. Flotation utilizes tank cells ranging from 20 m³ to 100 m³, with a selected design P80 of 75 µm. The plant design incorporates a PLC-based process control strategy with centralized control rooms and relies on a nearby 195 MW hydroelectric power source. Reagents used include PAX, MIBC, copper sulphate, and flocculant.
