Pumpkin Hollow Project — 2018 Integrated Study Document

Company Nevada Copper
Date 2018
Region Yerington, Nevada
Commodities Copper
Mine Type Underground / Open Pit
Throughput 5,000 stpd (Case A), 70,000 stpd (Case B)
Status Development

Executive Summary

This Technical Report details the recovery methods for the Pumpkin Hollow Copper Project in Yerington, Nevada. Two development options are presented: Case A, a standalone 5,000 stpd underground mine, and Case B, an integrated 70,000 stpd operation combining open pit and underground mining. The processing plant design focuses on a SABC comminution circuit followed by rougher, regrind, and cleaner flotation circuits to produce a copper concentrate targeted at 26.0% Cu.

The plant utilizes dry stack tailings (DST) and underground paste backfill for final deposition to minimize water content and improve process water management. Fresh water usage is limited to service cooling and reagent preparation, with process water recycled from thickeners. The design includes specific equipment sizing such as a 21ft SAG mill, 14.5ft ball mill, and tower mill for regrinding, ensuring a grind size of 100 microns for flotation feed.

Throughput 67,500 tpd
Status Feasibility Study

Executive Summary

This technical report outlines the Feasibility Study for the Pumpkin Hollow Copper Project conducted by Nevada Copper Corp. The project is designed to process a combined throughput of 67,500 tonnes per day (tpd) of copper ore, sourced from both underground mining operations (~7,500 tpd) and open-pit mining operations (~60,000 tpd). The study evaluates the technical and economic viability of developing two distinct mining areas: the East and E2 deposits for underground mining on privately owned land, and the North and South deposits for open-pit mining on public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management.

The proposed process plant (SPF) is designed to produce a targeted marketable concentrate containing 25.5% Copper. The processing circuit includes coarse ore storage, semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) and twin ball mill comminution, rougher and cleaner flotation circuits, and a regrind circuit. Tailings management involves dry-stack deposition for excess material and paste backfill for underground workings, with process water recycled to minimize fresh water usage. The study confirms the viability of blending open-pit and underground ores for simultaneous processing in a single concentrator facility.
