Executive Summary
This technical report details the recovery methods for the Rosemont Copper Project, specifically focusing on the processing of sulfide ore. The process involves transporting ore from the mine to a primary crusher via off-highway haulage trucks, then conveying it to a concentrator facility. The selected recovery process is classified as conventional, utilizing crushing, grinding, and mineral flotation circuits to recover copper and molybdenite minerals.
The ore is crushed by a primary gyratory crusher to minus 6 inches and stockpiled before grinding. The grinding circuit consists of a semi-autogenous (SAG) mill and ball mill, operating in closed circuits with trommel screens, pebble crushing, and hydrocyclones. Flotation circuits separate copper and molybdenum minerals into bulk concentrate, followed by specific molybdenite separation circuits. Final concentrates are thickened, filtered, and shipped, while tailings are thickened, filtered, and dry stacked.
