Trident Preliminary Economic Assessment, Technical Report

Executive Summary

Preliminary metallurgical testwork on the Trident orebody indicates high gold recoveries of approximately 90% using a standard crush, grind, and leach process. The ore, primarily ultramafic with some oxide to transitional zones, has historically been successfully treated at the Marymia and Plutonic plants. Testwork by ALS Metallurgy confirmed suitable grind sizes (P80 75µm-106µm) and cyanidation parameters, though residue analysis suggests some gold remains associated with sulphides.

The processing strategy involves utilizing the established Plutonic PP1 processing plant, which features a three-stage crushing circuit, a primary SAG mill, and two secondary ball mills. The plant operates at a nominal throughput of 210tph (~1.7Mtpa) with a CIL circuit consisting of two leach tanks and six carbon adsorption tanks. The assumed metallurgical recovery for the LOM plan is 89%, with processing OPEX estimated at $20.50/t.

Further work is recommended to better characterize ore types across different areas of the defined orebody, as metallurgical characteristics change with depth and lithology. Despite this, the current testwork supports the accuracy of the PEA and the assumed recoveries in the plan.

Executive Summary

The 2015 Trident Project Technical Report outlines the recovery methods for the Sentinel copper and Enterprise nickel projects. Sentinel is designed for a throughput of 55 Mtpa with an annual copper production of 247,000 to 297,000 tpa. The processing circuit includes three semi-mobile gyratory crushers, two SAG-ball mill trains, and a flotation circuit featuring flash flotation and desliming to manage carbon content.

Enterprise will process 4 Mtpa of ore with a dedicated primary crusher and milling circuit. It utilizes jaw crushers, a SAG-ball mill, and a flotation circuit including talc pre-float and nickel cleaning stages. Both projects share the Trident processing plant infrastructure, including tailings thickeners and the Tailings Storage Facility (TSF). The report notes that the plant is in a commissioning phase with operational targets set for late 2015.
