Executive Summary
This technical report section outlines the recovery methods for barite mined from the Tiger Ridge Mine at Jubilee Mountain and the Pedley Mountain prospects. Historically, barite from these locations has been utilized as oil well drilling mud additives. The current conceptual plan involves crushing mineralized Run-Of-Mine (ROM) rock to -3/4 inch size and processing it through coarse and fine mineral jigs at the mine site. Gravity separation separates the feed into an overflow waste stream and an underflow high-density barite product.
The high-density crushed barite is subsequently transported approximately 70 km to a dedicated barite grinding plant located in Windemere, B.C. The report notes that this metallurgical scheme is standard for barite ores globally, characterized by being simple and inexpensive to treat. This processing flow represents the established method for the Tiger Ridge and Pedley Mountain operations.
Additionally, a milling test is partially completed for the Frances Vein at Frances Creek. A 5 tonne ground sample was sent to a manufacturer in the eastern US for testing on a particle separation machine utilizing electro-static forces. The objective is to determine if this device can effectively separate waste from mineralized barite. If successful, this technology may replace or supplement the traditional jigging operation for the Frances Creek project.
