Executive Summary

The Anderson Project utilizes a conventional heap leaching process for uranium recovery. Mined material is crushed, screened, and stacked on a double-lined heap leach pad. Leach solution consisting of sulfuric acid and sodium chlorate is applied via drip irrigation to mobilize uranium into solution. The pregnant leach solution (PLS) is collected and treated on-site using Ion Exchange (IX) columns to load uranium onto resin.

The loaded resin is shipped off-site to Energy Fuels’ White Mesa Mill in Utah for stripping, precipitation, and yellowcake production. The process achieves an estimated 90% uranium extraction, with potential for optimization to 94%. Operating costs are estimated at $10.63 per ton of mineralization processed, with significant capital investment required for the heap pads and processing facility.

Processing Methods

  • Crushing: Jaw Crusher, Cone Crusher
  • Leaching: Acid Heap Leach (Sulfuric Acid)
  • Recovery: Ion Exchange (IX)
  • Off-site Processing: White Mesa Mill (Stripping, Precipitation)
