Executive Summary
This technical report section outlines the recovery methods for the Cadan Project, focusing on the existing TMC Mineral Processing Plant. The plant is designed for a throughput of 200 tonnes per day and utilizes a conventional Carbon in Pulp (CIP) or Carbon in Leach (CIL) circuit for gold and silver recovery. Laboratory work indicates that this processing method allows for suitable recovery of the mineralized material.
The mineral process flow-sheet employs proven technology involving crushing, grinding, and leaching. Mineralized material is crushed via a primary jaw crusher and roll-crusher before being milled in two ball mills. A gravity concentration circuit utilizing a Johnson Concentrator and Gemini Table is integrated to recover heavy minerals prior to leaching.
Recovery involves dissolving gold and silver in cyanide solution within six agitation tanks, where activated carbon adsorbs the metals. The loaded carbon is stripped using hot cyanide and caustic soda, and the resulting solution is processed in electro-winning cells to deposit metals onto steel wool cathodes. Final recovery involves smelting the cathodes to produce gold and silver bullion, with a detoxification circuit ensuring cyanide levels are reduced to 0.2ppm or less before discharge.
