Executive Summary

This Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) evaluates the Cerrado Verde ThermoPotash Project located in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The project focuses on the extraction and processing of glauconitic meta-argillite to produce ThermoPotash (TK), a non-chloride, multi-nutrient potassium fertilizer. The study confirms the technical and economic feasibility of the project, utilizing an open-pit mining method with a planned production rate of 1,000 tonnes per day.

The mineral resource estimate defines a combined Measured and Indicated resource of 1,448 Mt at 9.30% K2O, with reserves of 7,020 kt at 10.85% K2O. The processing plant employs a pyro-processing route involving calcination in a rotary kiln to convert potassium silicates into soluble TK. Economic analysis indicates a Net Present Value (NPV) of US$145.7 million at a 10% discount rate and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 23.52%, supporting the recommendation to advance to a Definitive Feasibility Study.

Processing Profile

  • Crushing: Primary crusher (233 ktpy feed)
  • Milling: Vertical roller mill (pilot), TK grinding
  • Calcination: Rotary kiln (0.9 m x 9.8 m), Flash calciner
  • Leaching: N/A for TK (Pyro-processing); Hot water leaching for KCl route
