Pimenton Mine — 2016 Technical Report

Company Compania Minera Pimenton
Date 2016
Region Central Chile
Commodities Gold, Silver, Copper

Executive Summary

This technical report provides an updated assessment of the Pimenton Mine and surrounding properties in Central Chile for Compania Minera Pimenton. The mine currently holds Proven and Probable Reserves totaling 69,000 tonnes with grades of 12.1 g Au/t, 1.2% Cu, and 8.0 g Ag/t. The reserves are sufficient for approximately two years of operations at the current throughput rate. Financial analysis indicates a Net Cash Flow of US$14.1 million and a Net Present Value of US$13.4 million at a 5% discount rate, suggesting positive economic value despite recent unprofitability due to low metal prices and dilution.

The processing plant has a rated capacity of 150 tpd, though current operations target 120 tpd (36,000 t/y). The metallurgical circuit includes crushing, grinding, gravity concentration using Falcon concentrators, and flotation to produce copper concentrate and gold-silver doré. The doré is smelted on-site while concentrate is shipped to the Enami smelter. Recoveries are approximately 92.5% for gold and 93% for copper.

WGM recommends reopening the mine and resuming production at 36,000 tonnes per year to repay capital and retire debt. Future exploration is recommended to delineate inferred resources on the Monica Vein and extend the mine life beyond the current two-year reserve base.
