Status Assessment

Executive Summary

This technical report outlines the metallurgical assessment and processing methods evaluated for the Reward Project. Various schemes including cyanide slurry leaching, heap leaching following crushing, and heap leaching at run-of-mine (ROM) size distribution were tested. Cyanide slurry leaching was eliminated from consideration due to low ore grades that could not economically justify the capital and operating costs associated with a milling scenario.

Heap leaching following crushing was selected as the preferred method. Metallurgical test work indicates that desired recovery levels are achieved at an ore crush size of 3/4 inch, with a crushing product size specification fixed at a P80 of 3/8 inch (9.375 mm). The process involves crushing ROM ore in a jaw crusher, adding alkalinity-control reagent, and loading the leach pad in 20-foot thick lifts. Cyanide bearing spray solution is applied for a minimum of 90 days, followed by a 60-day rest period to allow for pad drying and conveyor stacking.

Gold and silver bearing pregnant solution exits the leach pad and is pumped to a carbon adsorption section of the wet plant. Loaded carbon is trucked to the Briggs facilities in California for desorption through smelting to doré. Overall recovery of gold is estimated to be 80 percent over a 360-day continuous leach cycle, plus two percent from residual recovery. Silver recovery was not estimated at this time.

Executive Summary

The Reward Project is an open-pit mining operation focused on the recovery of gold from a Mineral Reserve of 15.1 Mt. The project is designed with an estimated mine life of approximately 7.6 years, operating at a processing rate of 5,479 tonnes per day. The ore is amenable to heap leaching, which forms the core of the recovery strategy. The project is currently in the development phase, with the full recovery plant scheduled for completion at the start of year 2 of operation.

Mining will utilize standard open-pit methods, with ore delivered to a run-of-mine (ROM) stockpile via haul trucks. The crushing circuit consists of a three-stage closed-circuit plant designed to reduce ore to a final product size of 80% passing ¼ inch. The circuit operates continuously with an estimated availability of 75%. Agglomeration with cement or lime will be applied during the first lift to ensure permeability, though testwork indicates it may not be strictly required for the entire heap.

Processing involves stacking the crushed ore on a leach pad and applying a cyanide solution via a drip irrigation system. The resulting pregnant leach solution is treated using carbon-in-columns (CIC) to recover gold. For the first year of operation, loaded carbon will be processed off-site until the on-site recovery plant is fully operational. Barren solution is recycled back to the heap, and an event pond is included to manage storm water contact solutions.
