Executive Summary
This NI 43-101 Technical Report details the Preliminary Economic Assessment for the Velardeña Project located in Durango State, México. The project features two existing process plants: Plant #1, designed for sulfide material processing to produce Lead, Zinc, and Pyrite concentrates, and Plant #2, capable of treating Au-Ag material from both oxide and sulfide sources. Plant #1 has a capacity of 350 tpd but was discontinued in late 2015 due to metallurgical challenges and low metal prices. Plant #2, leased to Hecla Mining Company in 2015, operates at up to 550 tpd and produces Au-Ag doré via cyanide leaching or flotation concentrates.
The project utilizes underground mining methods to supply Run of Mine (RoM) material to the processing facilities. Plant #1 employs a conventional crushing, grinding, and differential flotation circuit. Plant #2 utilizes a dual flowsheet approach, processing oxide material through cyanide leaching and Merrill-Crowe precipitation, while sulfide material undergoes flotation. A proposed BIOX® circuit is also outlined to treat pyrite concentrate from Plant #1 for precious metal recovery.
Processing Overview
- Crushing: Jaw and Cone Crushers
