Executive Summary
The Bruner Gold Project utilizes cyanide heap leaching with carbon adsorption as the primary recovery method. Based on proximity to surface, average grade, and preliminary metallurgical test work, this recovery method was determined to be most appropriate for the project. A zinc precipitation (Merrill-Crowe) recovery process was not deemed necessary due to the low silver recovery observed in metallurgical testing results.
The process flow employs a standard “adsorption-desorption-recovery” (ADR) system. Option A involves crushing ore to a nominal 4-inch size using a jaw crusher prior to heap loading, while Option B utilizes run-of-mine ore directly. The cyanide solution percolates through the heap to create Pregnant Leach Solution (PLS), which is then pumped through activated carbon in Carbon-in-Column (CIC) tanks for adsorption. Loaded carbon undergoes stripping to extract gold and silver into strip solution, then regenerated in a furnace and recycled. The strip solution goes through electrowinning to plate precious metals on steel wool cathodes, which are melted in a refining furnace to produce dorébars.
