Executive Summary

The F2 Gold System for the Phoenix Gold Project outlines a comprehensive recovery method designed for underground mining operations. The process flowsheet begins with underground crushing via a rock breaker and grizzly, followed by surface grinding using a double-stage circuit comprising a SAG mill and a ball mill. Gravity separation is integrated to recover gravity recoverable gold (GRG) before the slurry enters a conventional carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit for gold extraction.

The plant is designed for a nominal feed rate of 1,250 tpd with a production target of 456,250 tpy, yielding approximately 188,188 ounces of gold annually at a 92.5% recovery rate. The CIL circuit utilizes six agitated tanks with a 36-hour residence time, followed by carbon stripping, electrowinning, and smelting to produce doré bars. Tailings are managed through a paste plant, where filtered cake is mixed with cement and binder for underground backfill or disposal at the tailings management facility.

Capital costs for the concentrator complex are estimated at approximately $73.7 million pre-contingency, with operating costs calculated at $25.60 per tonne of milled ore, inclusive of the paste plant. The design includes provisions for future expansion to a feed rate of 2,500 tpd. Reagents such as sodium cyanide, lime, and lead nitrate are utilized throughout the process, with cyanide destruction handled via SO2 and air diffusion prior to tailings filtration.
