Executive Summary
This report presents four processing options for the Tabuaço project evaluated during a Pre-Feasibility Study (PEA). Options A1/A2 and A3 focus on producing a scheelite concentrate via flotation, with Option A3 incorporating ore sorting to reduce plant feed tonnage. Options B1/B2 and B3 extend this path by including acid leaching of the concentrate to produce high purity tungsten oxide (WO3). Option B3 also utilizes ore sorting. The proposed acid-based processing path is estimated to be less capital and operating cost intensive than the traditional ammonium paratungstate (APT) processing path.
SRK Consulting reviewed the technical feasibility and noted significant gaps in the metallurgical testwork supporting the proposed recovery figures. Specifically, the recovery figures for ore sorting (Options A3 and B3) and acid leaching (Options B1/B2 and B3) are not supported by reported testwork on the Tabuaço ore. SRK believes that a significant program of further testwork is required to verify the technical feasibility of the proposed process options and confirm the recovery figures assumed for the economic analysis.
