Executive Summary
This technical report outlines the recovery methods proposed for the Rionegro project operated by Alicanto. The current beneficiation process is primarily hydro-gravimetric, utilizing water as the sorting element in both mine and camp conditions. Free gold is separated using gravity methods including washing tables and Knelson concentrators.
For encapsulated gold found within magnetite, the project plans to employ hydrometallurgical methods. Alicanto is currently in discussions with Process Research Ortech Inc. to customize a circuit specifically for the characteristics of the gold-bearing magnetite ore. The existing process involves a Z-L type washer-sorter, manual cleaning, and spiral concentration to produce final concentrates.
